Learning Skills to thrive in secondary classrooms

These sessions are perfect if your kid or teen is struggling to understand how to get their schoolwork done, how to organise their workload, or how to understand what's required in an assessment. We can also support digital skills such as using your laptop, navigating your school's software, and using AI to support learning instead of undermining your thinking.

Literacy and Numeracy Interventions

Multi-sensory interventions that aren't done sitting at a desk. Kids and teens learn by moving their bodies and manipulating materials.

Literacy interventions like phonics, vocabulary, and grammar.

Numeracy interventions for kids with dyscalculia or other basic numeracy challenges.

Writing and Study Skills for Senior Secondary

Learners will get a chance to expand their use of subject-specific vocabulary, understand command terms, and decode assessments and rubrics. All these skills will come together to ensure they can write effective reports, essays, and extended responses.

Why should you choose Rad Learning?

Sessions that work

These sessions benefit all learners by doing what works - keeping them engaged, regulated, and targeting their specific needs.

But, they work incredibly well for Neurodivergent learners because they are:

Multisensory

Sensory needs are a priority - not an afterthought.

Learning outside wherever possible removes the sensory pressure of classrooms and other enclosed spaces. Fidgets and body movement are encouraged not just available.

Literacy and Numeracy interventions utilise research and experience backed multisensory learning strategies. Moving your body and manipulating materials are essential to intervention sessions.

Regulating

It's not just about turning up - you have to be regulated to learn

Sessions are available before school, after school or on weekends - so they can fit the times when the learner is most regulated and ready to learn. Durations are also flexible to ensure kids and teens stay regulated. It may take a while to build the stamina to stay regulated for a whole session and that's ok.

Targeted

20+ years of experience finding learning gaps

I use all my experience and training to find what each learner needs and teach them exactly that. There's not a pre-prepared curriculum or set of hoops to jump through.

Ren Everett

Your Tutor

I know what it feels like when systems exclude you, when the "one size fits all" approach means you don't fit. I've spent my life on both sides of that problem: experiencing exclusion while building pockets of inclusion like classrooms, support groups, and programs where people could actually belong.

After 20+ years teaching across different kinds of schools, non-profits, businesses, and training organisations, I created Rad Learning to do more. I'm offering tutoring that works because I bring all my experience and expertise to create something unique for each learner.
